The “Founding Father” of the group and the glue that holds everyone together. Founding the group in 1988, along with his wife Vicky, Mark has been playing bluegrass gospel music for over 22 years. He is the “heartbeat” of The Hurleys with his strong and steady bass playing. Mark also has a great ear for sound and the technical aspects of the band. Through many ups and downs, Mark has stood strong on his calling to serve Christ through music. He stands firm on his group being a ministry that serves churches everywhere. Outside of music, Mark enjoys vacationing with his wife Vicky to the beach and the mountains, riding bikes, reading and learning about the latest sound equipment, and spending time with their dogs.
Our “Momma” takes care of everyone with a tremendous spirit of God given love. Her kind and loving spirit ministers to the hearts of all those who hear her sing and play. Her sweet disposition and cheerfulness always keeps the group in the best of spirits! Vicky taught herself how to play the mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, and is now tackling the guitar! Her high ranging harmonies complete the three girl trio! She has partnered alongside her husband Mark to do anything she can to make The Hurley’s ministry work. Her committment and faithfulness has been a driving force behind the group for the past 22 years. In her spare time, Vicky is a true southern lady who enjoys nature and the beautiful outdoors! She enjoys walking, biking, and as an avid animal lover she enjoys spending time with her dogs.

Sarah’s family background in Southern Gospel music and her love of worship leading and Folk/Bluegrass music, has shaped her voice and style to a full a rich sound with wide vocal range and strength. She brings a rich creativity to the group’s music with her keen ear for vocal and melodic arrangements as well as song selections. Her sensitivity to the Holy Spirit is a priceless asset to the group. After a year serving in Youth Ministry, Sarah has recently taken a job in the Great Smoky Mountains, getting back to her family roots, working out of Bryson City, NC as the Head of Marketing for The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. The “Lefty” of the group plays everything backwards as they might say! Playing mandolin, guitar, and her most recent addition of the banjo combined with her moving melodic vocals, Kristen is a force behind the group that is undeniable! She is also expanding her musicianship through becoming a versatile songwriter. The youngest member of the group at just 21 years of age, Kristen is deeply rooted in her traditional bluegrass heritage while bringing a fresh new wind to The Hurleys music. Her passion for Christ and the call to ministry is evident in every way! Outside of music, Kristen is a college student and a photographer, owning her own photography business. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, bluegrass festivals, hanging out on the lake, reading, and as any true country girl she loves spending time in the mountains.
